To further enhance the old and reclaimed look that is created by the distressing process there is the option to add an irregular, hand-sanded, rounded texture to the edges and the larger knots of the boards before distressing them.  Each individual board is hand-crafted resulting in a floor that has an old worn look. This look is particularly effective in listed buildings, barn restorations and old timber frame structures. For a smoother worn look it can also be done without the distressing process, although we typically combine both.
